Advertisements.

Today I looked at different types of advertisements, what draws people in and how advertisements do that. There are 3 main categories that pigeonhole people into doing what the advert is showing:

  • Target audience – Suitability. (age, career, household income, race, disability)
  • Channel. (Social media, TV, Print, Billboards – outdoor media)
  • Product. (Service, Objects, Holidays/Entertainment, Awareness)

I personally enjoyed the advertisement on the left the most because i feel like it can be something that a lot more people will understand, its a very very well know picture but with the beetles replaced with beetles cars; its more lighthearted and comical. Although the one on the right is very affective it can possibly make people feel uncomfortable and not want to look at it.

Wills logo designs.
Mollys logo designs.

As a team, we had to come up with a name for ourselves and then create a logo to fit our name as well. Our chosen name is “Team FAD” which means Team Foundation Art Diploma! We all decided to create different logo ideas and then choose between the 5 logos. We chose Molly’s which is on the top right and we all took it and decided we liked the blue and recreated it again to come up with our final logo design.

We chose this one because it was really clear and pretty bold and we feel it represents us as a team.

The final logo design by Will.

We decided to decide on Will’s logo for the final design because it was a really nice colour it wasn’t too harsh and the Helvetica font was the best to use as its really clear and the best go-to font in general. Everyone was happy with this final design

Slogans

As a group we had to come up with a slogan for LV. Four of us had to come up with 5 different slogans for the different insurances on LV (home, pet, life, travel, car) using these guidelines: Recall the brand name, include a key benefit, differenciate the brand, impart positive feelings towards the brand and reflect the brands personality. I found this quite difficult so I came up with these slogans: “Bark up the right tree with LV” It recalls the brand name and theres a little rhyme in there so I think it’s a nice lighthearted slogan to use, and “Puppy LV=” I think this little phrase gives off positive feelings towards the brand.

Lauren came up with a slogan which we thought could be a great one to use for LV as a whole which was “We’ll insure you’re in good hands”. We thought it was a good play on words and lighthearted and we think it will impart positive feelings towards the brand and includes a key benefit. The main thing about LV already is the green heart; the ‘V’ transforms into a heart in the advertisements and i think that the slogan we decided on fits really well with the recognisable image.
